LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, August 28, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The art gallery TERAVARNA invites artists from across the globe to participate in its fortnightly juried competitions and be recognized on an international stage. Winners are featured on TERAVARNA’s online gallery wall and receive prestigious awards and prizes. The submission deadline for the 13th International Portrait Competition has ended, and the results of the incredible winners are being announced. TERAVARNA takes this opportunity to express its gratitude to all the participating artists presenting unusual portraits that speak volumes.

Artists from across the globe have submitted their portrait artworks for jurying and to be selected by an expert panel of judges, marking a significant milestone for both emerging and established artists, as the gallery makes art accessible to participants worldwide.

TERAVARNA congratulates the talented artists selected as the cash prize winners of its recently completed 13th PORTRAIT juried art competition. It’s time to reveal the names who have crafted human stories with finesse and skill. It was a joint exploration of portraiture and figurative art, expressing human experiences through aesthetic forms and figures.

The juried portrait art contest attracted submissions from 42 countries, and 489 artists have won a total prize pool of $1,150.00.

The first prize winner, Sofia Melissa Botter from Italy, earned top honors for her stunning artwork titled ‘My First Loss…,’ painted in oil.

Runner-up prize winner Hiske Tas Bain from Australia weaves her narrative in acrylic, an artwork titled ‘Gem.’

The Merit Prize goes to Noelle Hampton of the USA for her satirical oil painting ‘Speak No Evil,’ while 25 deserving artists receive the Talent Prize for their artistic discovery of cultural, social, sentimental, and impressive portraits.

Besides featuring the names on the Winners’ Gallery of TERAVARNA, the gallery organizes an immersive simulated showcase celebrating the winners of the 13th International Portrait Competition—a VR display of the award-winning works on portraiture. It’s a tribute to the artists who have shown their dedication, talent, and technique to explore identity, memory, emotion, character, and subtle human expressions through thought-provoking portrait art.

Each piece unfolds a story, an intimate narrative of expressions, showcasing technical precision, compositional depth, an eye for detail, and an original voice that echoes through the unmissable canvases.

Winners not only get featured on the virtual wall of TERAVARNA—they are eligible for a premium marketplace feature on global marketplaces like ARTSY. The First, Runners-up, and Merit-Prize winners of the competition will receive a free feature on the premier ARTSY marketplace for 6 months. This visibility is crucial for enhancing their portfolios and elevating their sales prospects.

They also gain social media promotion and coverage across TERAVARNA’s LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube channels, along with international exposure, connecting them with an extensive community of artists and collectors on this virtual plane.

The names of the winners of the 13th PORTRAIT Juried Art Competition will also be featured in TERAVARNA’s email newsletters to introduce these talents to our community of subscribers.
